more wedding pics
A weekend away!
Jason and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary this last weekend! Technically it's not until this sunday but we had to be flexible now that we have a two year old =) My parent's and sister came up to our house on Friday night and we left on Saturday morning. The plan was to go backpacking but the weather forcast was not in our favor so we decided to drive to Steamboat Springs. It's about a 3.5 hour drive through beautiful country! We had a wonderful weekend full of relaxing and getting caught up since our time together lately has been short.
We walked about 1000ft. to see this waterfall and laughed because that was the most excercise we got all weekend =) Pretty funny when we were planning on backpacking several miles!
On the way to Steamboat we saw a cow moose and her baby. It was near Grand Lake and off the road quite a ways, we bushwacked our way to them in our flip flops getting soaked in the wetlands and sneaking as close as we dared. It was really fun to see them so close.
We also went to a local hot springs in Steamboat called strawberry park hot springs. It was way out there on a really bad dirt road but it was worth it! Not very crowded and with out the typical "hot springs" smell it was a real treat.
We were so greatful for my family to make this possible! And Levi did awesome! He didn't even miss us...which was kind of tough for mommy...
We've decided to do something like this every year for our anniversary! It was nice to remember the "us" from before we had a kid but it was just as nice to come home and be mommy and daddy again. I really missed my little guy but I was glad that he was having so much fun with Omi and Grandad and aunt nita

the wedding
So last weekend I photographed a wedding for the first time! I was really excited, however for those of you that care, my computer is being stubborn and won't let my put them on the blog. These were the couple I got on before my computer went haywire. I will eventually publish a website to help drum up business but that will have to wait until we get a new computer.
I had a lot of fun doing this wedding! And it was a great opportunity to learn more! I am pretty pleased with the results and stoked to have more knowledge to apply to my next one.
Henry and Jen were great and cooperated very well with me and my funny requests. Hmm...could you kneel? Could you jump? could you laugh?
I look forward to a long career as a photographer =)

Hiking
On Sunday we went hiking to Bierstadt lake. It was a gorgeous day and we had a blast. Levi did really well in the backpack with only one meltdown when it was time to leave the lake. We ate our lunch and shared some with the very friendly ducks. Jason and I are really excited to go backpacking this coming weekend for our anniversary while Levi hangs out with my parents.
It will be our first time leaving him overnight but I'm sure he will do just fine and I'm hoping that I will too =)
Birthday Boy!
Levi turned 2 on Friday! We celebrated with our friends the Marshalls and Joe and Penny Clark. Levi loved eating his cake as you can see here. We got him a rocking horse because he loves to ride things saying yehaw! Sometimes it's hard to believe that we have a two year old but then I look in the bathroom and see ALL of the toilet paper unraveled and suddenly it's very real...
He is his own person with his own way of thinking! We are seeing more and more of his personality come out and it's really fun to watch. His vocabulary is growing daily even if we can't understand all of it. All in all we are tremeduously blessed by this little boy and are so greatful to be his parents. What a gift!
